- The Krewe of Mardi Paws starts on N. Columbia near Covington Police Department & travels down N. Florida through Downtown Covington, takes a right on E. Gibson St. and finishes near the Covington Trailhead on New Hampshire.
The Krewe of Mardi PAWS began in Old Mandeville and paraded on the Lakefront for almost 25 years before moving to Covington in 2020. The parade is always held the first Sunday after Fat Tuesday.
The parade with poop and a purpose is a fundraiser for all-volunteer 501c3 Scott's Wish, helping Kids & K9s in the community. It's just $25 per dog to parade with unlimited human escorts.
Reasons to come: Covington offers less walking and more parking and a big bash post-parade at the Covington Trailhead.
