In devotion to Sacred Drunken Wookiee, the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus fourteenth annual parade will roll on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. With over 3,000 members and more than 100 subkrewes, Chewbacchus remains dedicated to Saving The Galaxy One Drunken Nerd at a Time.

This year’s theme, "Chewbacchus XIV: Rise of the Superb Owl," will take parade-goers on “an extraordinary journey into the depts of the cosmic imagination.” In a playful nod to the comedy What We Do in the Shadows, this year’s theme reflects the show’s humorous twist where vampires mistakenly believe they are attending a grand "Superb Owl" celebration, only to find it’s actually a Super Bowl party (apt since Super Bowl LIX will take place in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.)

Meghan Davis, a longtime member and captain of the Vampiric Council of New Orleans, will lead the procession as the Conjurer of Cosmic Creativity, Summoner of the Superb Owl, and Queen of Darkness. 

Beloved subkrewes in this year’s procession will include Queer Eye for the SciFi, Krewe of Really Awesome Parodies, and Chew-Bake-Us. Throws to watch for include the highly coveted collectible bandoliers and bando blocks.

The parade will roll from Franklin Avenue and St. Claude Avenue, turning onto Elysian Fields, then Decatur Street, and concluding at Decatur and Conti Street.

Attendees are invited to The Fillmore New Orleans for the Chewbacchanal Afterparty, a celebration of galactic proportions featuring live music, DJs, and entertainment. VIP experiences and limited public tickets will be available. Learn more.
