But since we’re so excited (we may have started an actual countdown), we wanted to give you a sneak peek of the 2015 parade schedule! The season kicks off January with the Krewe of Blige. The unique parade takes place on the water—yep riders will throw to parade-goers from the middle of the Slidell waterways! The parade starts at noon, which gives you plenty of time to head back to the French Quarter for the wild ways of Krewe du Vieux in the French Quarter at 6:30 p.m. The Parade Route will begin and end on the corner of Marigny Street and Saint Charles—and is directly followed by Krewe Delusion, New Orleans newest satirical parade. Although they keep the theme a secret until the day of the parade, the wait is worth it!
Head to Metairie for some fun the whole family can enjoy February 1 where the Krewe of Little Rascals begin parading at noon. The krewe is America’s longest running children’s parade and named after the hilarious TV show.
Parades will continue to roll through the streets—leading up to Mardi Gras weekend which kicks off Friday, February 13 and continues through Fat Tuesday February 17, with the Krewe of Crescent closing down the party in Uptown with more than 3,000 male and female riders.
Whether you start the season with us come in the middle or are here for the big finale, Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a can’t miss event!
