Nyx Picks Fiddler Amanda Shaw

Cajun pop star Amanda Shaw will served as grand marshal of the 2018 Mystic Krewe of Nyx parade on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 6:45 p.m. on the traditional Uptown route.

In a press release, Nyx Captain Julie Lea said, ”Amanda Shaw is the essence of New Orleans and Louisiana and embodies how much music means to all of us.  As New Orleans celebrates its Tricentennial, Amanda was the perfect woman to lead us off into our biggest celebration yet." 

In addition to its signature hand-decorated purses, Nyx throws will include purse-shaped doubloons and uniquely shaped doubloons that reflect this year's theme which remains secret until the day of the parade.
