200 Days Until Mardi Gras

Are you ready? Mardi Gras 2014, Tuesday, March 4 is exactly 200 days away!

I know I am! I’ve been ready since 48 hours after last truck parade rolled down St. Charles Avenue on Mardi Gras day. Why 48 hours? Well, I did have some sleep to catch up on!

Over here, we’re busy working on the site to make sure that it’s ready for the 2014 carnival season. We’re updating the parade routes and schedule to make sure all of the maps and dates are correct. We’re also going through and updating a lot of the older information on the site to make sure that everything is update.

However, the big news is that we’re making the site responsive. Responsive may sound like nerdy tech jargon to you, it did for me too when I first heard about it. It means that next year this website will work on any type of internet device you could possibly own, laptop computer, smart phone or tablet. That means when you’re out waiting for the parade, you’ll be able to easily browse this site.

Now, here’s what we need you to do! You should start planning your trip to New Orleans. Figure out who you want to bring and start looking for a hotel room. We’ll help you out and connect you with the hotels that still have rooms available and are near the parade routes or the French Quarter. But don’t wait too long, people started booking their rooms the day after Mardi Gras this year, so don’t wait too long. And don’t ask me two days before Mardi Gras where to stay. I have a couch and hardwood floor. Neither are that comfortable.
